KABUL (Pajhwok): The European Union (EU) has said it is doubling its support for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Afghanistan.
In a post on X, the EU Humanitarian Aid wrote: “The EU is doubling its support for @ifrc’s emergency response in Afghanistan from €250,000 to €500,000.”
It said shelter, healthcare, food and clean water are urgent needs as tens of thousands who have to leave Pakistan face poverty and uncertainty upon their arrival in Afghanistan.
It’s important to note, that a large number of Afghan families are being forcibly deported from Pakistan on a daily basis and are returning to their homeland.
