KABUL (Pajhwok): Flash floods and landslides killed at least 34 people in northeastern India in the past three days, a media report said on Monday.
Indian TV reported: “At least 34 people have died in floods and landslides in the northeastern states – Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and others – over the last three days”.
The report quoted officials from the Meteorological Department as saying that more rainfall has been forecast there.
Multiple agencies have been engaged in providing relief and rescuing stranded people using various means, including an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter and boats, according to officials.
