KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 27 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured in an Israeli attack on civilians seeking aid in southern Gaza, Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday.
The attack took place in Rafah governorate at an aid distribution site operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which is reportedly supported by Israel and the United States, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called for an independent investigation into the ongoing attacks on aid seekers, which have been reported daily since May 27, when GHF began its operations.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military confirmed that three of its soldiers were killed in northern Gaza’s Jabalia area, marking one of the deadliest incidents for Israeli forces since the end of a ceasefire with Hamas in March.
Israel’s war on Gaza has so far killed at least 54,381 Palestinians and injured 124,054, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry.
